VIAS employs people with disabilities as Consultants because we believe that anything being done about the lives of people with learning disabilities or autism should only happen with people with disabilities fully involved. In the past and still today, most social research is done by people who don’t have disabilities. We think that this is wrong and are working to make sure that people are fully involved in the design and implementation of all social research and evaluation. Our evaluation team measure how a service enables an individual to have good quality of life. We aim to raise people’s expectations about what a good quality of life really means.
Comprehensive Service Evaluations
Comprehensive service evaluations are a full evaluation of a service that includes interviewing people who are supported, family, parents and carers, support staff, management and paperwork reviews.
Mini Quality Check
A mini quality check is a scaled down version of a much broader evaluation. It is designed to focus on specific areas of work or operations and gives a group or organisations a quick snap shot of how things are.
Mystery shopping or secret shopping is a tool used by companies and organisations to measure the quality of their products and services. Mystery shoppers pose as regular customers to gather information about actual service experiences.
