VIAS employs people with disabilities as Consultants because we believe that anything being done about the lives of people with learning disabilities or autism should only happen with people with disabilities fully involved. In the past and still today, most social research is done by people who don’t have disabilities. We think that this is wrong and are working to make sure that people are fully involved in the design and implementation of all social research and evaluation. Our evaluation team measure how a service enables an individual to have good quality of life. We aim to raise people’s expectations about what a good quality of life really means.
