We are recruiting for the post of Part-time Lead Consultant (Job Coaching), based in Hillington.  Reporting to the Senior Lead Consultant, this exciting opportunity will give the role holder scope to help VIAS to expand delivery of the Triple E service in Renfrewshire. This will grow and develop the organisation’s commitment to disabled people, in particular, people with learning disabilities and/or autism gaining and sustaining paid employment.

VIAS are looking for a new Board Member!

Values in Action Scotland (VIAS) is recruiting for a Board Member position. We are keen to hear from people with a strong communications and social media background.

Established in 1971 VIAS has grown to be a leading charity in this space with a turnover of £491,795. VIAS’ vision is for a Scotland where people with learning disabilities and/or autism have the same opportunities as everyone else and are supported to achieve their goals.


As a disabled persons organsation (DPO), 50% of our board have a learning disability and/or autism. The other 50% of the board are selected on the basis of specialisms that will help us to develop and it is here that we have a vacancy.


We offer excellent training and development opportunities and out of pocket travel expenses. Mentoring support is offered to allow a smooth transition for new Board Members.

The board of VIAS meet virtually quarterly on Wednesdays between 6pm and 8pm. The successful candidate would also be required to attend meetings of one of the VIAS Strategic Groups progressing our strategic objective of Enhanced communications capacity and practice.

Meetings take place between board meetings and will be minimum 1 meeting maximum 2 meetings lasting 1 hour. The majority of meetings take place via Zoom mid-week but we do a face-to-face meet up at least once per year.

VIAS would like to welcome all the new members of the team! These Include Liz Callaghan, returning to VIAS as a Senior Lead Consultant for Quality Improvement, as well as Clare Northfield who joins us as a Lead Consultant in Administration for Project SEARCH. We would also like to welcome on board Amy Bailey, the Assembly’s new South East Facilitator!

We have new faces in our board too! We welcome Ryan McCrory as the board’s new Co-Secretary as well as new board members John Oyelakin and Morgan McIntosh.

Welcome to the VIAS family, we can’t wait to accomplish great things with you all!

This shot was directly ahead of a successful event in North Ayrshire on 30th October attended by Joe Scott, VIAS’s Senior Lead Consultant! He had the pleasure of meeting Marie Burns the leader of the council promoting the great work VIAS do in other council areas, especially our supported employment service Triple E, The Life I Want and Easy Read services. She showed great interest and asked Joe to contact their employability  manager to discuss further!

Norma and Joe Visit the DIAGEO Plant!

On Tuesday the 24th of October Norma Curran CEO and Joe Scott Senior Lead Consultant of Values Into Action Scotland visited the magnificent DIAGEO Cameron Brig distillery in Leven! They were warmly welcomed by Lindsay Maclennan and Colin Hogg to discuss the exciting DIAGEO We Are All Able program, and the continued positive energy of employing disabled people. It was wonderful to hear what has been achieved so far and from a VIAS perspective, where we could potentially assist DIAGEO develop their Diversity and Inclusive culture.

Next week Joe Scott will be visiting the DIAGEO bottling facility in Renfrew to meet the We Are Able Team there. More to follow. Finally, Our best wishes go to Lindsay who will be leaving for far off shores to pursue a career in Australia in December!
